Because of Birchwood’s commitment to its growers, and the kiwifruit industry there is a continual push to improve performance, with an emphasis on efficiency, quality and fruit care.

Ongoing investment in our facilities has ensured that we keep up with the most advanced developments. With our latest coolstore construction we were able to incorporate the latest in energy efficient lighting and a water defrost system that harnesses energy that would otherwise be wasted. The use of this new technology is providing Birchwood with a reduction in energy use, shrinking our carbon footprint, and for our growers providing excellent storage facilities.
